Ingredients for 4

  • 6-7 potatoes for baking (e.g. Rooster potatoes) (approximately 800 g)
  • 100 g cheddar
  • 30 g butter
  • 30 g flour
  • 300 ml beef stock
  • 4 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 1 small red pepper
  • Salt and pepper (seasoning)

Preparation time: 20 MIN Cooking time: 45 MIN
  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/Gas 6.
  2. Wash, peel, and dry the potatoes and cut into 8 wedges.
  3. Place them in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and mix until well coated. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper and cook in the oven for 45-50 minutes until golden.
  4. Cut the cheddar into small pieces.
  5. Prepare the brown sauce: in a saucepan, melt the butter then add the flour. Pour in the stock and heat until it comes to the boil. Allow the sauce to thicken.
  6. Lower the heat and add the paprika, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and ketchup and stir until smooth and creamy.
  7. Pour the brown sauce over the potatoes as soon as they come out of the oven and sprinkle with cheddar and chopped red pepper.
  8. Enjoy immediately!
